I distinctly remember sitting in high school English class one day, looking around at my fellow students, and thinking to myself ------I might even have mentioned it to someone------ that there was no way these people should be allowed to reproduce. And, as you look around, you can see how tragically correct I was!

They Got the Memo, But They Wiped their butts with it!!

In my hometown of Grand Rapids, Mich., more than 1 in 5 cannot read!! 1 in 5!! Some of those are older immigrants from Holland and Poland and Germany, who worked in the trades and got by all of these years; some are newer immigrants, Latinos and Asians, who have not yet learned ---here’s hoping they do. But that still leaves a lot of illiterate people. There was an article not too long ago to the effect that people in Michigan don’t believe a college education is that important for their kids to get a good job in the future; They still believe factory jobs will be there. Michigan is one of the hardest hit states by this recession, and was the only state to actually lose population this last census. Last one out, turn off the lights. Second thought: turn them off now. You don’t need them for reading.

No wonder they blew their chance to choose a Dem. nominee. Do we really want Michigan and Florida to be the "deciders?"
