This, Here

A while back, a professor at a college that was performing my music told his students that my music was not about “chord-progressions,” as a lot of Western harmonic music is, but, rather, “chord-accumulations” or “chord-juxtapositions.” If you piano students remember the “Circle of Fifths”, picture it expanding like on “Cosmos.”

Or pictured another way:

Humor me...

It seems my music has been showing me the way all along: the non-linear, expanding, juxtaposing of beings and happenings continuing on in a song I’m singing.

“Human beings, vegetables, or cosmic dust,
we all dance to a mysterious tune,
intoned in the distance by an invisible player.”

---Albert Einstein

“The grip the present has on me, that is the one thing that has grown most noticeably in my spiritual life--- nothing much else.” (Thomas Merton)

There. I'm done now. Whew!
